Good Reads.

Hey guys,

So I learn about makeup and it's complements from my friends, makeup artists, YouTube, online and I also have quite a few books. I thought I'd show you guys some books I have and some books that are good to get where you can really read up about skin care and the art of makeup. You'll realize it's not just about buying new products and trying out everything. There's actually a science behind it and reasons as to why some things suit certain people better and other things, suit other people. Most of these books are written by very established makeup artists who work with celebrities and own their own cosmetic companies so there's some really good stuff in them.
Jemma Kidd: Make-up Masterclass
Jemma Kidd is a British makeup artist who runs her own makeup school. Outside the UK, I'm not exactly too sure where you can buy her products though. Her book is probably my favourite out of all the cosmetic books I have. It's easy to read, starts from the basics and covers everything from skin care to eye shadows. Her looks are not too dramatic as she believes in wearable makeup looks that enhance your natural beauty. Literally, everything you need to know is in this book. It's also an easy read with lots of pictures and looks for you to try. I honestly can't go on enough about how good the book is but let's just say that every time I pick it up, I want to take out all the stuff on my counter and try out everything she recommends. So if you only wanted to buy one book, I'd say this is THE best.
Jana Ririnui & Lan Nguyen: Makeup Is Art
This book takes things one step further. Ririnui is a makeup artist and the founder of  AOFM. Nguyen is a makeup artist as well as the Creative Director of her own cosmetic company. The book is a step up from Jemma Kidd's with more elaborate detailed looks, less about skincare and more focus on technique. This would be a good book for those of you who are more experienced in makeup and who maybe want to venture into it more professionally. There are really nice looks that mimic icons from the 1920s through to the 1980s. Realllllllly pretty stuff.
Beauty Rules
Bobbi Brown: Beauty Rules
I don't have this book but I'm planning to get it. The book is a reflection of what Bobbi Brown herself believes in. Natural beauty. The book is targeted to tweens and teens but is a good book for if you're starting out with makeup and need some good solid introductions. It's a book for real people that teaches you basics that are essential for everyday makeup. It's a make-you-feel-good book that I think everyone needs to have. She diverges and also talks about life and things she's learnt along the way. And I mean, who doesn't want to hear what Bobbi Brown has to say.

Rae Morris: Express Makeup
Rae Morris is an Australian makeup artist who's worked with the who's who of international celebrities. She's won the Australian makeup artist award four times. You've gotta trust what this woman has to say. He book includes things like eye colour charts and how to achieve the perfect brow. There are also 35 looks for you to try.

Ok so that's all I have for you guys today. Catch you soon!

Love, Tasha
